9 Things Every Strong Girl Should Remember In 2024

9 Things Every Strong Girl Should Remember In 2024

What are the things you should have in mind while entering the new decade, if you want to remain a strong woman ?

The notions you can’t allow yourself to forget, despite being at your lowest or at your highest?

Read these 9 empowering reminders and find out!

2023 doesn’t define you

Last year might have been tough. You probably made many mistakes and made some wrong choices.

However, it doesn’t define you in any possible way.

The failures that happened in 2023 should be left there because they don’t determine the person you’ll be in 2024.

This is a chance for a fresh start. Don’t look back and leave the past in the past, where it belongs.

You’ve accomplished enough

Despite everything you’ve been through in 2023, this is a reminder that you accomplished enough and more importantly—that you are enough.

Yes, there were probably some goals you didn’t manage to reach, some people you should have never let in your life in the first place, some second chances you shouldn’t have given and some moves you could have played out differently.

However, what is the point of focusing on the negative things, when this last year had more beautiful memories?

Whatever you might think now, the truth is that you’ve made it to the end of the year safe and sound.

Even though it doesn’t appear that way now, you got to December stronger and wiser than you were in January.

And what more can a girl ask for?

You can’t always follow your heart

Another thing I beg you to keep in mind this year is that you can’t always go after your heart’s desires.

Yes, I know that beneath that mask of a strong girl, there hides a hopeless romantic who always goes all the way in and who is ready to do whatever it takes for love.

However, sadly, the rest of the world doesn’t function that way. Don’t get me wrong—I’m not advising you to become a ruthless, heartless bitch.

Nevertheless, I am asking you to listen to your reason from time to time as well.

No, it won’t be easy at first but it will definitely save you from a lot of headaches in the long run.

It is okay to fail

Never forget that despite everything, you’re just a human being made of flesh and bones.

As much as you would like to be one, sadly, you’re not some kind of a superwoman.

You have your own vulnerabilities as well as every other person.

However, being emotional doesn’t make you weak and making a few wrong choices doesn’t mean you’re stupid.

Remember that you can’t always succeed at everything you put your mind to.

There is nothing wrong with failing every once in a while, especially if you always find your way back up and there is nothing wrong with breaking, especially if you always manage to glue yourself back together.

You’re allowed to be wrong, you’re allowed to have a shattered heart, you’re allowed to cry and you’re allowed to be scared.

And none of these things make you any less of a strong woman.

But it is crucial to own your mistakes

However, what makes you a mature woman is the capacity to take responsibility for your actions and to stand behind your words and deeds.

It is being able to admit when you’re wrong, to own your mistakes and to do everything you can to correct them, without ever repeating them.

Regrets have no point

What is the point of beating yourself up over the things and people you can’t change? What’s the point of wasting your energy on regrets?

What is the point of racking your brains about the past, instead of preserving your precious energy for the future?

You see, the worst thing you can do to yourself is obsess over all the could, should and might have beens.

It is to allow the demons of the past to haunt you and to keep on impacting your present.

Therefore, as this year is coming to an end, stop crying over some situations which should have turned out differently.

Remember that everything happens for a reason and close this chapter of your life once and for all.

Learn from it but don’t drag it with you into 2024.

Your life won’t magically change at midnight

I hate to break it to you but when the clock strikes midnight, nothing will be different just because another year came knocking on your door.

Your life won’t magically fall into place and your problems won’t disappear in the blink of an eye.

Actually, nothing will change in January. Unless you make it happen!

Never forget that you’re the creator of your own happiness . You have the power to transform your own life and to choose to stick to your New Year’s resolutions.

No, I’m not claiming that everything will go according to your plans.

However, you’re the one who has the skills to use the cards that have been dealt to you in the best possible way.

Progress is more important than perfection

Perfection doesn’t exist and all of us have flaws of character. Nevertheless, you shouldn’t even try reaching perfection in the first place.

And you know why? Because progress is much more important than perfection.

So, instead of competing with anyone, only compare the you of today with yourself from the past year.

You’re the only person you have to defeat and the only one you have to beat.

Never stop working on yourself, improving, wanting more and pushing yourself forward.

Don’t lower your standards for anyone and be certain that you can achieve whatever the hell you want.

You’ll never be younger than today

I hate to break it to you but you’re getting older (and hopefully wiser), just like the rest of us.

So, this is a reminder to make the best of today because you’ll never be a second younger.

A reminder not to procrastinate, not to wait and not to postpone anything. Don’t waste the following year and put all of your efforts into getting the best out of it.
