7 Signs Your Relationship Is No Longer Worth Fighting For

We are fighters and we hardly let go if there is even the slightest bit of hope to get it done.

Whether it’s keeping the relationship going, taking care of other people, saving ourself and our dreams, we are simply not quitters. But, sometimes, the best thing to do is to quit.

Sometimes, there is no other way for us to save ourself in the end because even if we try hard, if we give everything we have, it’s not enough.

Some things are just not meant to work out. Relationships included. If you find yourself going in circles, fighting the same battles over and over again, maybe it’s time to walk away.

If you’re still not sure if your relationship is worth fighting for any longer, check the list below that can help you make the decision that’s best for you.

1. Your fights are set to repeat

Fighting is good and quite healthy for a relationship, if you figure out the problem in the end and you grow closer with every fight. But if you are constantly fighting about the same things and the things that are triggering them, that’s a huge red flag that says you’re not that good a match.

You haven’t figured out the way to discuss any issues and get past them and without that, you’ll be stuck in the same place until someone finally snaps. It could be because you two are not on the same page because of emotional immaturity but regardless of the reason, this is always a major red flag.

2. Communication is off

Or you never really had it in the first place.

When we fall in love with someone, it feels great. We are in the honeymoon phase and everything looks amazing and so perfect. We are getting to know each other, the passion is through the roof and we just can’t get enough of each other. But what happens once the honeymoon phase is over?

If you notice that communication is lacking and that you can’t open up to each other, that could be a sign you’re not ready for a relationship yet.

Or, if your communication has suddenly disappeared, your man could be closed off for some reason. Men tend to do this when they fall out of love but don’t know how to approach it.

3. You no longer see you two as equals

What started off as an amazing relationship now seems like a give-and-take game. You are always the one who tries harder, the one who fights for the two of you, the one who gets hurt and the one who doesn’t feel like she’s good enough.

If he makes you feel less worthy and like you’re beneath him, that’s just him playing games to boost his ego. He will strip you of your confidence so he can feel better about himself.

True love is not about one person being better; it’s about both of you striving together.

4. There is no trust

Trust is the most fundamental thing in a relationship. You can’t have love without trust.

If you suspect that he’s cheating and he has given you a reason to do so or he already cheated but doesn’t seem like changing his behavior afterward, it’s time you put yourself first.

If a man can’t see your worth and constantly leaves you wondering if maybe you’re not good enough, then he’s not worth it.

A real man will never let his woman go to sleep thinking she’s not enough. A real man will never give her a reason to doubt his loyalty in the first place.

5. He can’t seem to take the blame or see things from your perspective

This is a sign he is emotionally unavailable. It’s not that he doesn’t want to, it’s the fact that he is incapable of doing so. He sees himself as perfect, so how can he do something wrong?

He will try to make you feel guilty for bringing up the issue and you will end up apologizing to him or feel like you’re crazy for thinking such a thing. But your feelings, your gut, never lies.

No one has the right to decide whether they hurt someone or not. If you hurt someone, it’s up to you to acknowledge your mistake and apologize, even if it’s accidental.

If he’s incapable of even apologizing, that’s not a person you want to have around, because he will never change.

6. There is no respect

If he doesn’t respect your emotions, your opinion or you, you don’t need to put up with that shit.

You did not build yourself for him to take you for granted, for him to see you only as arm candy. There is no man who is worthy of your tears and your love, if he doesn’t know how to appreciate you.

Keep in mind that you deserve to be happy too. You deserve someone who will love and respect you. If he’s not the one doing it, then he’s not the one worth fighting for.

7. You feel lonely even when you’re together

The worst kind of loneliness is the one we feel next to the person we love. It’s the kind of loneliness that tears you up from the inside, bruises your soul and breaks your heart every single day.

If you feel lonely next to him but he doesn’t seem to notice, leave. It just means he is too involved with himself to notice you’re hurting.
